An amazing, but cold weekend spent at the Timberwolf Lodge in Ontario. 3 separate days, 3 separate lakes, and 3 separate species targeted. The cold front drove all the fish deeper so the catching wasn’t as good as it could have been, but the fishing and camaraderie was excellent. We were lucky enough to get sunshine, rain, snow, and sleet all in one trip!
Old Man and The Sea
Don sits patiently as we cruise across Pickwick Lake towards our first fishing spot.
In His Element
Kevin looks right at home out in nature – weather be damned!
Storm Rolling In
We watched this storm rolling in over us
The Snow has Arrived
Big fat fluffy flakes aren’t supposed to be falling in September!
Brilliance
Amazing orange maple leaves. Fall has arrived!
Wowzer That’s Cold
Kevin and I cannonballed into Winkle Lake after coming out of the sauna – and boy is that water cold!
I Can’t See
Luckily the ground wasn’t cold enough to let the snow stick, but I had to spend a couple minutes scraping the windows and we had to dig some snow out of the boat.

These Boats Won’t Be Going Out Today
A stack of rowboats sit covered with freshly fallen snow.
Calm After the Storm
Winkle Lake is a mirror after the snowfall.
A Dog’s Life
The Timberwolf Lodge dog has the best life ever – a lake and endless woods to play in, along with a never-ending assortment of guests to entertain.
Fish Fear Us
The mandatory group selfie shot before we head out to show these Canadians how to fish!
Get The Shovel Out
I didn’t know one of my jobs was going to be shoveling snow out of the boat!
Fish On!
Kevin waits patiently for Don to reel his big lake trout in before pulling his own in. We found a stack of fish and they pulled a doubleheader.
Fire on Shore
Beautiful autumn leaves everywhere along the shoreline.
What Has Two Thumbs?
