Before the government regulators opened up their bank books to the rest of the world, everybody with serious money had a Swiss bank account in Zurich. Now, even the regular folks like us use Swiss banks.
Less than a 2 hour drive from home, we decided to add it as an overnight on our Chamonix trip.

Zurich didn’t impress, but it certainly surprised us.

We’ve grown jaded with charming old-town European cities, of which we found little in Zurich.
What we did find was a very vibrant city oozing energy everywhere. If you have a job that keeps you in a big city somewhere, this is the place to be.
From the nonstop happening of the culinary scene, to the nightlife that doesn’t close until 5am, to the hordes and hordes of locals enjoying the miles of public space along the waterfront of Zurichsee (Lake Zurich), this is definitely one happening city!
Came, saw, enjoyed – but not on our return list. Too much other world to see, and too little time!
