The Vatican Museums contain roughly 70,000 pieces of art, 20,000 of these are on display. The museums have a staff of 640 people to manage all this!
In 2017 there were 6 million visitors, making it the 4th most-visited art museum in the world, and one of the largest.

The most amazing thing about this peice of art is that it’s not a painting – it’s a tapestry! Created out of millions of tiny threads, they live in a tightly climate-controlled area of the Vatican Museums known as the Gallery of Tapestries.
