When there is a Chocolate Festival a short train ride away – you must go!
Tubingen is a very cool little down with the mandatory river, winding streets, and German half-timbered architecture.
The only thing that makes it better in the winter is chocolate and hot gluhwein.
Throw in some beautiful green spaces and a nice castle, and it’s on our short list to return.
The Walk
You can just imagine centuries of people walking down this same tree-lined path.
Classic Tubingen
I think that this is the classic shot of Tubingen.
Chocolate!
When you’re in Tubingen for the Chocolate Festival, guess what there’s plenty of?
The Souvenir
We don’t collect souvenirs other than photos from the places we go, but somehow we ended up with a Tubingen cup from our gluhwein…
Outside the Wall
A side detour along a dirt path that leads nowhere. It’s good to get out and explore instead of just standing in the middle of everyone else.
No Easy Access
There’s no easy way to get into Schloss Hohentuebingen if you’re not welcome.
The Hodgepodge
Roof lines – not lined up. Definitely the times before planned cities and the suburban McMansions!
Bubbles
As we were walking down the street we noticed a huge stream of bubbles floating up, up, and away.
Big Bubble
The street performer who was making all the bubbles broke out his big guns – the massive bubblemakers.
Looking Back
Colette steps back in time as she appreciates the stone and wood workmanship that has survived the ages.
Bubble Blower Video
A fun video of a street performer blowing massive bubbles for the crowd
