This is a very nice 5 mile out-and-back hike about 15 minutes from our rental cabin here in the mountains of North Carolina. We decided to do it, even after hiking Greybeard Mountain yesterday. We’ve also started logging our hikes, both route and elevation, so that we can remember what we’ve hiked. Photo Set

A beautiful pasture at the end of the hike.

Fresh bear scat along the trail.  I see he had plenty of roughage in his diet!
Ah, crap

Some of the foliage at the end of the hike is well over 7 feet tall, dwarfing Colette.
Can You See Me?

A nice pano shot of the meadow.

Our Lowa Renegade GTX boots must have over 1,000 miles on them by now.

If you see the Elbow Tree, look down the slope to find the 150 year old giant tree.
