Triangle Mountain sits right out the back door (0.88 miles as the crow flies), and has been really low on the list for a really long time.
But it’s New Year’s Day, and I must get out and play.
We had a good storm last night and another one is coming in this afternoon, that means that playtime is short.
And since my playmate is down with a rib muscle injury, might as well finally get this one out of the way since it’s not high on her list.
The trail to the peak is only 2.8 miles with 1,371 feet of elevation gain, and everybody on AllTrails complains about the steep start. Despite the naysayers, I found it to be a very pleasant trail with gorgeous views. Clouds surrounding Longs Peak, weather moving in from the northwest, orange dust down over the flatlands, and clear blue sky directly overhead.
Not a bad start to the year. Now to go sit in the hot tub and then chill by the fireplace.
Happy New Year everybody!
