With our gypsies-with-jobs lifestyle people often ask, “How do you decide where to go next?” The weather is probably the biggest factor since we aim to avoid cold or hot extremes.

And sometimes it’s just a yearning.

The long road to Colorado started in Tampa a couple weeks ago when we traveled the Tallahassee-Chattanooga-Nashville-Shiloh-Topeka-Golden route.  There were some very long stretches of interstate and some very special moments shared with friends.  And then some very long stretches of interstate again.

The other long road to Colorado started much further back for me.  I began thinking about the idea of living in Colorado 20+ years ago and started talking about it 4+ years ago.  Something about the active outdoor lifestyle in a beautiful natural setting always appealed to me.  The snow did not.  So I started to work on a way to enjoy what I consider to be the best of the seasons and here we are!

Stay tuned for more adventures from colorful Colorado as we adjust to the altitude and humidity (or lack of!), both of which are such extremes from Punta Gorda.
