One of the big things about getting out of Zurich was finding some green places to hike.
Google never disppoints, and the Taubenlochschlucht (gorge of the dove) was exactly what we were looking for.
Well known – so not exactly secluded. Close to Biel and easily accessible to the masses, we had to share the trail with other groups but with scenery like this we didn’t mind a bit!
An automobile bridge crosses high above the Taubenloch, barely visible from the bottom of the gorge.
Colette takes time to watch the river run by.
The layers of rock warped by time are very visible here.
The walkway through the gorge passes through this arch high above the river.
The mandatory pose on the bridge!
