After years of talking about Shenandoah National Park, we’re finally here! We know that people (affectionately known as "leaf peepers" by the locals) plan way in advance to catch the fall colors, so we watched the Fall Foliage predictor (yes, there is such a thing!) and timed our visit to coincide with peak color. Unfortunately with the warm and crazy weather that we’ve been having, it’s still very green with only the slightest bits of color here and there. Hopefully we’ll see things change quickly before we have to head south.
Talk Becomes Reality
After years of talking about Shenandoah, we’re finally on our way in!
Endless Waves of Green
Sitting and taking in the endless waves of green trees rolling over the mountain ranges to the west. They’re supposed to be red and yellow trees, but fall is hitting late this year.
Fall Walk
Colette pauses to breathe in the damp fall air as we trek along a section of the Appalachian Trail in Shenandoah National Park.
