Wayne Wilmoth PhotographyA lot of talented people! That’s the best subtitle for this post.

In an effort to not spend all of our time in Punta Gorda on the water, we ventured out for a taste of culture at the Peace River National Art Festival.

Pure blue sky, 80 degrees, and a light breeze blended perfectly with the waterfront location on the Peace River in downtown Punta Gorda.

Peter R. SmithThe festival features 100 artists from all over the country, gourmet food booths, and live entertainment. It includes fantastic original artwork: jewelry, pottery, paintings, photography, art glass, wood, sculpture, and textile goods.

We’ve both enjoyed a lot of art over the years, here are a few artists that captured our eye today:

  • Peter R Smith wire mesh sculptures
  • Harbor Light Gallery matted landscape photography

If you’re in the area, the festival runs through tomorrow 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  at Laishley Park and benefits the Visual Art Center, a non-profit facility for exhibits, classes, gift shop, and arts library.
