The amazing agricultural development center at Moray. The arrangment of the layers creates as much as a 27 degree temperature difference between the top and bottom layers. It is possible that this large temperature difference was used by the Inca to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops. Speculation about the site has led to discussion about Moray as an Inca agricultural experiment station.

Concentric
Perfectly concentric circles at Moray, amazing considering the limited tools available to the Incas.

Different Climates
Part of the Incas design for the terraces at Moray was to test different crops in different climate zones, based on which terrace they planted on.
Lost in Translation
Sometimes things are lost in translation – although their English is much better than my Spanish!
Climb the Ladder
Rather than have stairs which can contribute to erosion, the Incas put long stones jutting out of the walls which act as ladders.
Amber Waves
This photo makes me want to start singing "America the Beautiful", except it’s in the wrong country. A beautiful farm and mountain view from the road leading to Moray, Peru.
