When we saw the Winterlichter on the Procedimus Una schedule, we knew we had to do it since we were heading up to Freinsheim for the wine hike.
We’re so glad we did! When we first walked through the gate and saw a few trees lit up with lights, we were like "we paid 13 euro for THIS?". But once we started wandering we realized that it was totally worth it.
It’s not just the lights – it’s watching groups of friends and families out for a Saturday evening stroll. Parents spending time with their kids outside. And don’t forget the food and gluhwein!
Would we make a trip up to Mannheim just to do this again? Maybe. Combine it with the Freinsheim Rotweinwanderweg and we’d do the whole weekend again in a heartbeat!
Dark Side of the Park
I thought of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album cover when I saw this.
Centerpiece
This barrren tree was the centerpiece for many a photographer here. I think I’m a trendsetter.

Trust me, this is a lot more fun than it appears when you have an adult beverage in your hand!
