Just a rainy day spent poking around Malibu and Ventura exploring the piers and beaches while dodging the raindrops.
First there’s the government shutdown.
Will Delta cancel our Denver – Los Angeles flight?
Will we get stuck in TSA due to short staffing?
Will there be enough air traffic controllers to get our plane off the ground, or will we sit in Denver forever?
No, no, and no. Yay for modern travel.
Except now we have the epic rain and flooding in Southern California.
What was supposed to be a day of Malibu sunshine and Ventura photos turned into a day of Malibu rain and soggy Ventura photos – I mean, it NEVER rains in Southern California, right?
After dropping the rental car we’re headed to the sailboat Sancerre that we’ve chartered to visit Channel Islands National Park for a few days.
We may not be able to depart the marina on schedule due to the weather, but we’ll figure it out and make the most of it.
You can’t control the weather, but you can definitely control your attitude!

When it’s crappy weather, you might as well poke around all of the tourist spots.

Here’s Hoping

The Channel Islands National Park visitor center is nice and dry even with this torrential rain coming down. Hopefully we can make it out to the islands tomorrow.
