Little Redfish Lake is a five minute walk from our free boondocking spot in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, but we’ve passed it by time and time again on our comings and goings.
We tossed around the idea of renting a boat on Redfish Lake from the Redfish Lake Lodge – just not happening on a long holiday weekend.
Plan B- park in the day use area by the Sandy Beach boat launch, pay the $9 Sawtooth NRA day use fee, and chill by Redfish Lake like we did the other day. While it was amazing to have a chunk of shoreline to ourselves then – this is also not happening on a long holiday weekend – pop-up canopies and children galore.
Luckily for us, Little Redfish Lake makes a great Plan C. No day use fee, no crowds, downtime with a beer, our Kindles, and random weather patterns spinning around to the north and south of us.
It’s always good to have a Plan C.
Happy Fourth of July weekend everyone!
