Our second day on the Snaefellsnes Pensinsula. Heading east, we pass Kirkjufell during a blowing storm, then onto Stykkisholmur before heading south to Reykjavik for the night.
Kirkjufell’s "witches hat" signature look is an iconic Iceland photo in the summer when the triple falls in front are flowing.
There sure is a lot of nothing out here!
Left to Grunadrfjordur, or right to Stykkisholmur? Everything in Iceland is well marked, there’s just a lot of nothing in between the markers.
The Stykkisholmurkirkja – or the church in Stykkisholmur. Pretty fancy digs for such a remote little town!
Ready For Work
The Karl Thor sits ready for the spring thaw and its time to go to work in the North Atlantic.
Stykkisholmur is a picture-perfect little town, if you can handle the frigid nothern temperatures.
It takes a hearty soul to have a sailboat in these waters!
Waiting to Work
The colorful Frida is waiting her turn to go out.
