Nothing like a 5 minute warning of a freak hailstorm when you’re well above 12,000 feet.
We headed for tree line once we saw and heard it coming, and were able to duck under some small scrubby bushes for a bit of cover. Those things hurt! Like getting shot with hundreds of frozen paintballs. 10 minutes later, back to blue skies and sunshine – crazy mountain weather!
