Toes in the sand, hand in hand, we started a new leg of our adventure October 22, 2011 surrounded by loved ones on the north beach of Anna Maria Island, FL. Happily homeless, gypsies with jobs, and now Mr. and Mrs.
It had rained earlier in the week when a late season tropical storm blew through nearby, but by Saturday it was sunny and 75 degrees. Friends and family joined us from Minnesota, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia for a weekend celebration. Our sailing instructor & minister Captain Tim Benson was the perfect officiate, tailoring the ceremony to encapsulate the nomadic lifestyle which we lead.
We hope that those who joined us enjoyed this beautiful event as much as we did. Having everyone together was an incredible gift and there are so many special moments and memories from the weekend that it’s difficult to capture them all in words. Hopefully the pictures will help tell the story.
A huge thank you to everyone with us in the sand and in spirit for your kinds words and good wishes.
Love by Roy Croft
I love you
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.
I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.
I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;
I love you
For putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over
All the foolish, weak things
That you can’t help
Dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out
Into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked![]()
Quite far enough to find
I love you because you
Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern
But a temple.
Out of the works
Of my every day
Not a reproach
But a song.
I love you
Because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done
To make me good.
And more than any fate
Could have done
To make me happy.
You have done it
Without a touch,
Without a word,
Without a sign.
You have done it
By being yourself.
