Doha is a great mix of ultramodern and historic. From the green grassy waterfront promenade sporting shiny hotels to the sights and smells of the souks, it’s a place that’s certainly worth spending a day or three poking around.

Colorful lighting adorns the ceiling of this bazaar in Doha.
Art Transcends Race
It’s amazing with all the Eastern vs Western culture that art simply transcends race. Artists simply want to portray the world as they see it – I was going to say ‘paint a picture’, but I realized that’s exactly what they did here. A simple portayal of daily Qatar life, put on canvas by a skilled, creative hand.
Not OSHA approved
This setup would never pass OSHA approval here. We sure like to gripe about how hard we have life, but seeing how people in other countries live and work makes you realize just how rich even the poorest people here are.

Museum of Islamic Art
The Museum of Islamic Art is a stunning modern facillity, from the fountains out front to the well laid out interior.
Of course I have to have some monkey art photos…
Follow the Yellow Brick Road
If you can’t find the Yellow Brick Road, just follow the Blue Globe Walkway.
Doha by Night
Doha is an amazing, colorful city by night. The brilliant architecure is masterfully lit to impress even the most jaded of us.
