One of the many benefits of taking the squiggly roads on the map is stumbling across things like the Champvent Castle.
We usually try to stay off the freeways where possible and explore the countryside, and an optional route from Creux du Van to Lausanne took us over the river and through the woods.
A picture-perfect countryside castle set up on a hill, with miles and miles (or kilometers and kilometers) of beautiful farmland as far as the eye can see!
