Although we’ve already done the first section of the Cow Creek Trail, we haven’t done the circuit up to Balanced Rock.
While the snow is light enough, we decided we should head up and hopefully avoid the crowds.
7.3 miles and 1300 feet of elevation later, we can officially say that it’s well worth the time and effort.
Snow, pines, and lumpy views – why not?
Cow Creek is turning blue as it begins to ice over for the winter.
It’s called Balanced Rock for a reason, and it looks an awful lot like the one in Arches National Park.
No idea why they call this area Lumpy Ridge…
Sit For A Spell
A beautiful overlook as we end up with this section of the Park all to ourselves finally.
Through the Woods
Lots of this hike are on nice trails among the pines.
Stopping for a break on the footbridge over Cow Creek.
