We took a break from the dry California air to spend the weekend visiting Jim’s daughter in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. Luckily, they were experiencing a “cool front” with high temperatures only in the upper 80’s with lots of sun and humidity.
It was a great weekend and we managed to pack in a lot of activity over a couple of days, touring LSU (where she’s a student) and the condo she’ll be moving into next month, a day trip to New Orleans, and lots of great quality time just sitting and chatting over coffee and meals.
Since the three of us had been to New Orleans before, we focused on something new – Jean Lafitte National Historical Park, something favorite – Audubon Aquarium, and something classic – wandering around Jackson Square and the Quarter enjoying the music and people watching.
Since she’s a busy college student we were happy to have the time to connect and catch up…and to make plans for her to visit us in the dry California air!
