Family, extended family, friends and townspeople all gathered in Brownsdale for Don and Leone’s 70th anniversary party.
Well, everybody except the man of honor!
The folks at IBI Data were kind enough to donate the use of their rental homes for the family to stay at over the weekend, and they filled up quickly as we rolled in on Thursday and others trickled in on Friday and Saturday.
One big hiccup in the plans – Don took a spill on Friday night and ended up breaking his arm.
This meant a hospital stay and video-chatting with the 80+ people who showed up for their 70th anniversary party at the local church.
All is not lost though, with the wonders of modern technology linking the hospital and the church he was able to see and hear the partygoers even if they couldn’t hear him over the noise in the reception hall.
Not the most ideal scenario, but everyone was happy to see him and wish him well electronically.
It’s not often that people make to their 70th anniversary, and it’s good to see what a huge community builds around you in that amount of time!
